2ef7 Map Thermostat Activation Code
The EGR valve is not always the culprit. • Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring engine RPM's & DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's with the EGR open • Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits • Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer to a repair manual for your specific model) • Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one) • Replace the EGR valve Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer. My guess (just a guess). Since the DME can sense the temp into and out of the engine it could be that it expects a temperature drop when it applies current to the thermostat. If it does not see the temp drop it can assume that the thermostat is not functional. Note that just because the resistance is still at 12 ohms it does not guarantee that the heating element is functional. My two cents.
DMW - 2EF5 DME: Map thermostat, activation - Open. 2EF5 DME: Map thermostat, activation - Open circuit. 2EF7 - BMW 1. Code 2EF7 in Engine.
I reconnected, cleared the codes, started the car, and got the code again. My state inspection expires at the end of this month.

DTC Displaying Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds. Connect PIN 13 on the data link cable (DLC) to a ground. The DLC is located in the cab under the instrument panel on the driver's side. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Observe the transfer case shift control switch select buttons for flashing codes.
To understand the significance of the livery, you first have to know something • Autocar has stumbled upon what appears to be the first uncovered photo of the next-generation BMW 7 Series. It looks like the real deal, and we'll know for sure on June 10, when the 2016 model is officially revealed. This image allegedly appeared on a BMW configurator, and has since been taken down.
TCCM Self-Test Observe the transfer case shift control switch indicators while turning the ignition switch to RUN. A properly operating system will flash all indicators and then will return to the current gear. If the system is operating normally, then proceed to Displaying Codes. If the TCCM failed the Self-Test, then test the following circuits. • Battery Positive Voltage (40 and 1640), and Ignition 3 Voltage for battery voltage • Ground Circuit for ground • Diagnostic enable circuit for an open or high resistance • Transfer case shift control switch connector If the above circuits are normal but the TCCM still fails the Self-Test, replace the TCCM. Refer to Transfer Case Shift Control Module Replacement.
Best regards Ck P0106 - MAP/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance ProblemOBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem What does that mean? The Control Module (PCM) uses the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) to monitor engine load. (NOTE: Some have a Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor that is integral to the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and do not have a MAP sensor. Other vehicles have a MAF/BARO and a redundant where the MAP sensor functions as a backup input in case of MAF failure.) The PCM supplies a 5 Volt reference signal to the.
OK, have replaced thermostat, cleared the code, its been two days now and the code hasn't come back. So it looks like 2EF5 = New Thermostat:P Also the coolant I drained was almost clear:S Which id say means its probably never been changed and and all the anti-freeze has just died lol Shame on BMW, before I bought the car it had a full service history from BMW. When I bought it car had 115000 KM's and was 5 years old. I will probably change the coolant again in two years. Tip for future DIY persons:P 1.

The electrical cable connector female contacts looked quite discolored. I tried scrapping them with an exacta knife, but it didn’t seem to make a difference.
I followed the manual. Yea the t-stat is designed to fail open so an over heat situation cannot happen. To whoever said there is a known failure range for the water pump.there is NOT. I've seen pumps fail at 20k and other go at 140k on the E9x. Since they are electric and not belt driven, there is no indicator for a failing pump. Although, I know a few people who have pulled codes from their DME indicating a reduced flow rate. The pump failed within the next few months.
Causes A code P0128 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: • Low engine coolant level • Leaking or stuck open thermostat • Faulty cooling fan (running too much) • Faulty • Faulty intake air temperature (IAT) sensor Possible Solutions Past experience indicates that the most likely solution is to replace the thermostat. However here are some suggestions on troubleshooting and repairing a P0128 OBD-II code: • Verify coolant & level • Verify proper cooling fan operation (check if it's running more than it should). Replace if necessary.
If a fault occurs a code is stored in the DME, usually with a description of 'Map cooling circuit'. A fault code can be present yet the vehicle will lack any cooling system issues, such as overheating. This can be a tough part to change as it is tucked away and behind many components.
