But only if you have extra licensed plug-ins included which is what the auth file is for (unlock licensed plug-ins). Otherwise, if it is just a barebones card (that includes just the basic unlicensed plug-in pak.Pultec EQ, 1176SE, RealVerb Pro, CS-1, Nigel) then you will not need an auth file to install and use. You would just need the last official UAD-1 compatible software version (v6.1 or lower) and the card to install on any computer. Does that mean, they kill. The uad-1 secondhand market? I mean, if i sell one of my unused uad-1´s, the new user cant authorize them? If yes, real bummerAs long as you include a copy of your authorization file with said card/s there will be no problems. The auth file is tied to the card and not to any particular computer device/component. What UA is saying that as of December 31st when the UAD-1 servers go offline any current auth file is locked to the card/s it is authorized for.
