No artificial flavors, no gallons of burned fat, no tons of spicy sauce. Just normal tasty food - Their strawberry lemonade is amazing. It is not some water with strawberry flavored syrup, it is actually made from real strawberries - Everything is served on ceramic plates with metal utensils (no plastic crap) - You can make an order and they will bring it to you in less than 5 minutes.

This place was a wonderful, fast, and healthier option. I got the chicken special with broccoli salad subbed in for the garden salad.

Definitely worth a try if you're in the neighborhood. Downtown Homewood is perfect for a lunch and stroll on a warm, sunny day! I love the new location. Lots more space and seating.

The food was very inexpensive and everything tasted awesome. Highly recommend.

The chicken I added on didn't really help much either, as there wasn't much flavor to it. I absolutely love avocados and guacamole. They gave me a scoop of avocado to go with my quesadilla, but again there was no salt or flavor to it. I think if they just gave guacamole instead or seasoned it a bit, it would have paired nicely with the quesadilla. My friend ordered the cowboy and hot cheddar pasta on the side.

The people in the dining room were packed in like sardines. We ate outside, and that allowed us to enjoy the heart of Homewood. This part of town is very popular, and a neat atmosphere. This place has so much hype so I was really expecting it to be good, but I just didn't really enjoy my food.

The hot cheddar pasta looked like macaroni and cheese, and looked pretty amazing to me, I def think I should have gotten that instead. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

My salad also came with a orange roll, a unique item not served at most restaurants. It was so good!

Both were very good. The chicken on my plate was very good. Good seasoning and flavor. The employees are very nice and service is great.

I had the Urban Cowboy, and I thought it was delicious. This is a steak sub on French bread. The steak is sliced and topped with peppers, onions, and pepper jack cheese. The lime marinaded steak was tender and flavorful. The aioli sauce is a mayonnaise-like spread with a hint of garlic. The sandwich is similar, but different from a Philly.

3/13/2018 I had heard about how great Urban Cookhouse was and had it bookmarked for a long time when I finally got the opportunity to come here. I came here with some family for lunch to try things out and everything was great. Urban Cookhouse is in downtown Homewood and is walking distance from several restaurants and bars. Parking is not the easiest in this area of town, but this food is worth the hassle. When you walk in, it's a casual cafe feel with first-come first-served seating. We ordered our food from the counter and we're not sitting very long when our food arrived.

So many chunks of broccoli, squash, zucchini, and carrots. I don't even know if there was cheese on it, and that's a major building block of a good quesadilla if you ask me.

Today it took them 2:40. Again, you don't have to wait near the counter - they'll bring it to your table - Staff is also great: they open the door for you, come to your table to pour water, tables and chairs are always clean - Children's menu is also tasty Urban Cookhouse is my default lunch choice now. If we had more places like this all over the country instead of all the 'traditional fast food', we would've be a healthier nation. This is the second time in Birmingham where we have read reviews, been convinced to go and left wanting more. This place looks so cute from the outside but somehow smells like a Boston Market from the inside.

The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and wasn't chewy at all. My salad came with an orange roll - WOW. What a surprise there too. Great little dessert.:). This is my second time visiting and it tastes just as great as I remembered. When you're on a road trip, sometimes you just need a break from all the greasy fast food options close to the interstate.

The restaurant was pretty packed, but service was still quick and very good. The servers were all very kind and accommodating. I ordered the lime marinated steak.

My mom and I have been to UC numerous times but last week was our first time dining at their new location. I ordered the chicken plate and my mom got the chicken salad meal.

Soy milk makes coffee soooo creamy. - I made Tina's. I am not paleo and never will be, but I love baking with almond flour! These turned out delicious.

They did an excellent job of pulling these ingredients together, and making the sandwich their own. I ordered the roasted vegetables as my side. It consisted of a nice combination of fresh veggies. But the veggies were a bit bland, and maybe a bit over cooked. Also, They seemed more like steamed than roasted. The restaurant was very busy.

I like UC because it's a nice lunch place that has healthy options. I have had numerous entrees on the menu and not been unhappy with anything.

It was good, steak was tender. I on the other had racked up with i think the best sandwich I've had in a while. It was the white BBQ chicken. Chicken was seasoned exceptionally well, very moist, tender texture and had smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese and white BBQ sauce.

The menu is shockingly low on vegetarian options, so I got the veggie quesadilla. Huge portions, some flavor (mainly from the cup of salsa, which was served super cold for some reason) but generally underwhelming. The berry salad was pretty good, especially with the pecans, but the mix of ingredients was a little off. I'm ashamed to admit we were debating between this and Panera for dinner (such is life while traveling for work) and we should have gone with Panera (which makes me cringe even writing that!) Service was fast and friendly, so that was a plus. Overall, though, not what we were expecting for a fast casual dinner- the whole vibe was a little off. Real & Rosemary is right down the street and was much, much better- it advertised the local ingredient/fresh menu selections as well, but seemed to live up to that promise better. Really enjoyed eating here.

Service was friendly. After order was place it was maybe 10 minutes until our meals arrived. The dining area is small (nit bad tho) but we were told they are moving soon to another location with more space. I do like outdoor area and thrive added nice umbrellas! Now for the food:)) Jimmy's sandwich was he Urban Cowboy. It was steak, caramelized onions and cheese on a nice bun with fresh veggies mix.

I was DYING during this class. Great workout! Wednesday: Spinning Thursday: 45 minutes on the AMT + yoga Friday: 1 hour personal training session (we used resistance balls, medicine balls, and bosu balls). My abs are feeling it today! Saturday: 4 mile walk Sunday: off Hope you all have a fabulous and relaxing weekend!

We ordered our food from the counter and we're not sitting very long when our food arrived. I ordered the pepper patch salad, a large salad with tomatoes, black beans, corn, onions, pepperjack cheese, and jalapeno dressing. It was delicious and everything tasted fresh.

In an area that is saturated with unhealthy choices or chains this was a diamond in the rough! I am staying this week across the road in the Aloft and they offer an online order and pick up option so placed my order as I left of the office. When I arrived to pick it up they didn't have it ready, and the gentleman was super polite and said they have been having issues with their order system and asked that I pull forward. Thinking it would be a 5-10 min wait - within a minute someone was walking out with my order! Now that is customer service. My salad was delicious. Tasted very fresh with fresh ingredients.

I love their broccoli salad and orange rolls. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good lunch spot or healthier restaurant option. This place has redefined the meaning of 'fast food' to me.

The broccoli salad was light, slightly sweet, and creamy--i definitely made the right substitution! The chicken and rice pilaf were both super flavorful, although the chicken was a tad on the dry side. The famous orange roll was the perfect amount of crusty to soft ratio and wasn't overly sweet. Highly recommended! Urban Cookhouse was fantastic for lunch yesterday.

The tortilla wrap was very healthy which didn't help the taste. When they call it a veggie quesadilla, they mean it!

Is really yummy! They did a great job balancing the strawberry / lemon flavor.

The food smelled wonderful, but I was disappointed in the taste. The steak was very tender but lacked flavor. Onions and red peppers accompanied the steak, but that didn't help with the flavor at all. The rice was also bland, I tried to eat a little bit of all 2 together but still nothing. I indeed up just pushing the steak, rice and veggies to the side. I didn't eat the rest.

The steak was juicy, tender, and very flavorful--the meat stole the show. Each of the Fork & Knife entrees come with two sides and an orange roll (psst. You might want to get a basket of orange rolls to go:)).
